Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS)

Empowering adults to build skills for independent, stable living.

Program Overview

ARMHS supports adults living with mental illness in developing everyday skills to live independently, manage their mental health, and stay connected to their community. Services focus on stability, recovery, and preventing hospitalization or more restrictive placements.

Eligibility

You may qualify for ARMHS if you:

  • Are 18 years or older

  • Have a primary mental health diagnosis determined as determined by a diagnostic assessment

  • Have completed a Level of Care Assessment

  • Have serious impairment in 3 or more functional areas

Covered Services

All services are delivered by qualified, enrolled professionals and include:

  • Basic living & social skills (e.g., cooking, budgeting, transportation)

  • Certified Peer Specialist Services

  • Community intervention

  • Medication education & symptom management

  • Functional assessments & treatment planning

  • Support transitioning to community living

All services are goal-driven and face-to-face (except community intervention).

Where Services Are Provided

ARMHS can be delivered in various community-based settings, including:

  • Your home

  • A family member’s or friend’s home

  • Workplace settings

  • Community locations like:

    • Drop-in centers

    • Clubhouses

    • Classrooms

    • Other public spaces

Non-Covered Services

The following are not covered under ARMHS:

  • Transportation

  • Housekeeping, laundry, or errands

  • Social/recreational activities

  • Case management or job-specific training

  • Room & board

  • Services delivered in:

    • Regional treatment centers

    • Nursing homes

    • Inpatient hospitals

    • IRTS (unless part of Transition to Community Living)
